Relief DVM coverage, designed around your clinic

RockVet PLLC provides per-diem relief veterinary coverage to small-animal clinics across Texas. We arrive on the days you book, see your patients on behalf of your clinic, and leave the practice ready for the next day.

01

Request a date

Submit a coverage request with your clinic information, location, and the days you need.

02

Confirm details

We confirm availability, the scope of the day, and the agreed per-day service fee in writing.

03

We cover the day

We arrive at your clinic, see patients within your protocols, and document care in your PIMS.

What a covered day looks like

We work within your clinic's protocols using the clinic's own supplies, medications, and equipment. Our goal is for your clients and your team to feel like the day went exactly the way it would have with your own DVM on the floor.

  • Outpatient appointments and wellness exams
  • Sick visits and diagnostic workups
  • Prescriptions through the clinic's pharmacy
  • Euthanasia appointments handled with care
  • Supervision of technician appointments per clinic protocol
  • Client communication during the visit
  • Medical record documentation in the clinic's PIMS

Scope of practice

Patients we see

Dogs, cats, and pocket pets — rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, mice, hamsters, chinchillas, and ferrets.

Surgical procedures

On the first day or two of relief at a new clinic, our focus is observing your workflow, your team, and your protocols. Routine surgical procedures already on the schedule are handled at our discretion once we're confident in your setup. Discussed and confirmed in advance.

Pricing

Services are billed at a flat per-day rate agreed upon in advance — never hourly. Rates vary by region and market (Houston, Austin, Waco, Bryan–College Station, and surrounding areas each look a little different), so the specific rate and any travel considerations are confirmed in writing before the date is booked. RockVet PLLC operates as an independent contractor and does not become an employee of the clinic.

When clinics call us

Vacation & PTO coverage

Keep appointments booked while your veterinarian takes time off — without overloading the rest of the team.

Illness & emergency coverage

Last-minute relief when a DVM has to step away unexpectedly so you don't have to call clients to cancel.

Maternity & paternity leave

Steady, predictable weekly coverage during parental leave so the practice runs normally while your DVM is out.

Coverage between associate hires

Bridge the gap after a departure and before your next associate starts — protect revenue and prevent burnout.

Continuing-education days

Send your team to CE without closing the schedule or asking the rest of the staff to absorb the load.

Veterinarian shortages

Add a covered day or two each week when demand is outpacing your current DVM headcount.
