About

A trusted relief veterinarian for Texas clinics

RockVet PLLC is a Texas professional limited liability company built around one purpose: keeping small-animal clinics fully covered on the days the practice owner can't be. When you book a relief day, you get a Texas-licensed DVM who steps into your protocols, sees your patients with the standard of care your clients expect, and leaves the practice in good shape for the next morning.

What you're getting when you book Dr. Peña

For clinic owners, the question on a relief day is simple: will the practice run the way it normally does? Dr. Peña is a 2005 graduate of Texas A&M University's College of Veterinary Medicine, with three years in small-animal clinical practice followed by relief coverage across Texas since 2008. That means your team gets a DVM who has already seen how dozens of clinics operate — and who knows how to fit into yours.

His focus is everyday small-animal care for dogs and cats, with an additional comfort level treating pocket pets — rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, mice, hamsters, chinchillas, and ferrets — when those clients walk in.

On the operations side, he's worked extensively in Cornerstone, AVImark, Petware, Woofware, Covetrus Pulse, and most other major practice management systems, so charting, prescriptions, and check-out flow into your system without slowing down the front desk. He also speaks conversational Spanish, and is comfortable taking histories and explaining treatment plans with Spanish-speaking clients when they come in.

What he values most about the work is the opportunity to support clients and their pets through every stage of life with quality medicine and genuine compassion — the same standard he extends to your patients on a covered day. At home, Dr. Peña and his wife are in the Bryan–College Station area with their children and a house full of pets.

How we work

On covered days we operate as an independent contractor of the clinic. Patients are treated on behalf of the clinic, medications and products are dispensed through the clinic's pharmacy, and any procedures are billed through the clinic's system. RockVet PLLC carries no inventory and does not sell products directly to pet owners.

Our role is to keep your practice running smoothly so your clients and patients continue to receive consistent care, even when your team needs a day away.
